Hunting safari in Tanzania, Africa

No safari in Africa and in the world compares with a safari in Serengeti, Tanzania. Tanzania is so spectacular that it deserves more time to explore and absorb its magnificent beauty. Here is the kingdom of predators, due to the huge herds that roam in the area. Serengeti maybe is the best, but Tanzania features many other excellent parks and game reserves worth for a hunting safari.

BulletSerengeti National Park

No place in the world compares with Serengeti and its neighboring wildlife reserves. Night drives are not allowed inside Tanzanian National Parks. A unique way to see Serengeti is by hot air balloon. Flying at treetop height offer a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below.
Serengeti is so vast that months could be spent effortless exploring it. Five days spent in Serengeti is the minimum time to get a real feel or enjoyment of this area. The dry season is between July and December and is the best season for a safari in Tanzania. The rainy season is from March to mid June. Even if in that period rains a lot, the low season is cheaper and the park has less vacationers.

BulletUdzungwa Mountains National Park

Do you want some adventure and a safari with a little spice because you don't like to sit and passively see the wildlife during you across the parks? Then a hiking safari in Udzungwa rain forest is probably the best place for you. There is the place where true adventure begins! In this park are no lodges, so during your safari you'll enjoy just basic camping...
Your vacation in Africa should take place in the dry season because when rains the rivers become almost impassable, swollen, fast and the crocodile activity increase too. So, you should be accompanied by a guide and an armed ranger to be in safe. Although many people feel they could do without cultural addition, once the expedition starts you'll find that meeting local peoples is a dimension of the adventure you would not want left out...
Udzungwa mountains are an ecologically sanctuary and host one of the top forests for bird conservation in Africa. The park has been recently elevated to national park status and, although there are many animals, it was created to protect primarily the plant species. The enchanted rain forest is dotted with fertile glades, where fungus, lichen, moss and ferns invade every damp crevice. A new variety of African violet was discovered here, on 30 meter high trees! At all levels the bird and plant life is exciting. The smells, the sights and the chance to walk into a primeval forest with no one else from hundreds of miles will offer you incredible memories.
Walking and hiking through dense forest on the steep slope is not easy, so you should climb a few smaller mountains before vacation. Still, there are some more relaxing walks, lasting for a day or two. Walking to Ruiper Ranger Post along Ruiper river is a nice walk, with plenty of buffalos, hippos and birds to see en-route.
The effort to climb the mountain will be rewarded because the plateau offers views of sugar plantations, grassland and mountain forest extending over 100 kilometers! But the centerpiece of your view is Sanje River, which has a spectacular waterfall, plunging 170 meters through the forest to land in a spray of mist... Udzungwa Mountain National Park is bordered by Ruaha river to the north and is located not far away to Mikumi National Park and Selous game reserve.
The now protected Udzungwa is undoubtedly one of the few true virgin forested lands remaining in the world. Apart from providing habitat to about six species of primates, its plateau contains populations of elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, African hunting dogs and several forest bird species.

BulletThe Northern Circuit

The northern circuit of a Tanzanian hunting safari contains usually a travel to Serengeti, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tarangire and Lake Manyara. The northern area of Tanzania has become now very popular and many vacationers come here every year to enjoy a great safari experience. This has a negative part, because now these once seldom visited parks are in danger to become over commercialized! Still, once you get away from the travelers route, the rest of the area is remote and one of the best places to see wildlife during the dry season.
In the area are private game concessions, such as Western Kilimanjaro, featuring a few camps. The small camps found in these remote area are best visited into a few days, so you can appreciate and experience the safari to the full...
The camps are very comfortable. They blend into their natural surroundings offering privacy, intimacy with nature and isolation from the rest of the world. These camps usually work together with local communities to help improve the living conditions of the local people. A safari enjoyed there is so memorable that will keep you coming back to experience more and more of this fascinating country!
A mistake made by many vacationers is to see how much is possible in a short time. The paradox is that if you see much you'll experience less! Slowness is the art for a perfect hunting safari in Tanzania. Leave your watch behind and enjoy all wonders offered by this exceptional beauty land...
