African SunKenya Safari Packages & Trips

The Republic of Kenya lies in the eastern part of Africa and is one of the preferred vacation spots on this continent. There are numerous reasons why trips and safari packages to Kenya are very popular among tourists, but the most important two are the political stability of the country and the very rich wildlife. Kenya became independent on 12 December 1963 and since then the country had a democratic evolution, even if along the decades there where some political convulsions. Still, in this African republic no bloody political or ethnic purification took place and foreign citizens have been always welcomed.

On the tourist market can be found a lot of rewarding African safari packages, but few of them leave so strong memories as safari trips to Kenya. The variety and richness of wildlife is extraordinary there. In this country is located one of the tallest peaks in Africa, Mount Kenya (with 5,199 meters or 17,058 feet is the second highest, after Mount Kilimanjaro), which has a very specific flora and fauna. Due to its uniqueness, there is a protected region, the Mount Kenya National Park, designated by UNESCO as a "World Heritage Site". Mount Kenya is forested on the majority of its area and is home to numerous wild animal species like monkeys, antelopes, elephant, buffalo, giant forest hog, suni, mountain bongo, hyena, leopard, and occasionally even lion. In the trees' crowning can be observed a multitude of exotic birds such as turacos, francolins, hornbills, sunbirds, parrots, swallows, mountain buzzards, the green ibis and the Abyssinian ground-thrush, the last two being very rare. To this destination are available a lot of safari tours, from which perhaps the best is the "Mount Kenya Climb Sirimon Trek", that starts in the capital city Nairobi and is continuing to the western side of Mount Kenya. It takes 6 Days/5 Nights and features sights of beautiful glaciers, ice carved rock formations, valleys, snow capped pinnacles, and a lot of wild animals. It is truly a fabulous route and a dream journey for every trekking fan!

The mountainous region attracts 15,000 tourists yearly, but Kenya has many other great spots where can be spent safari vacations. There are Samburu, Amboseli, Nakuru National Park (the second most visited park), and Masai Mara, and this ones draw to this country even more holiday makers as Mount Kenya! Samburu National Reserve is located very close to the Buffalo Springs National Reserve, in fact it are separated by the Ewaso Ng'iro river. This reserve is a mixture of grassland vegetation, acacia, riverside forest, and thorn trees, so the variety of animals is very large. Among others, there can be seen lion, cheetah, leopard, but also elephant, buffalo and hippo. Other local species are the gerenuk, Grant's gazelle, Kirk's dik-dik, impala, waterbuck, Grevy's zebra, and the reticulated giraffe.

Also very popular safari packages to Kenya include trips to Amboseli National Park, which lies only partially in this country and crosses the border with Tanzania. It is recognized as the best place in Africa where can be encountered free-teeming elephants, so tourists really love to visit it! Masai Mara is perhaps the most renowned wildlife park in Kenya and even in Africa and this is not accidental at all! Masai Mara is in fact an extension of Serengeti National Park from Tanzania, so the richness of wildlife is stunning! Safari vacations in this region include jeep rides over spectacular savanna where live many famous African animals like rhino, wildebeest, elephant, lion, and many, many others.

Safari trips offer so beautiful memories that many tourists are coming back year after year to enjoy more treasures of this land. Safari packages to Kenya are numerous and some of the best deals and rewarding adventures in Africa include "Wings Over Kenya", "Samburu Safari", "Amboseli By Air", "Mara By Air", "Samburu By Air", "4 Day Masai Mara Fly In Tour", "Wildlife Safari in Kenya: Aberdare, Samburu, Masai Mara", "7 Day Lion Safari Tour", and "Kili Safari".
