African JourneySafari Packages & Trips To Kenya

The Republic of Kenya lies in the eastern part of Africa and is one of the preferred vacation places on this continent. There are numerous reasons why trips and safari packages to Kenya are very popular amongst tourists, but the most important two are the political stability of the country and the very rich wildlife. Kenya became independent on 12th December 1963 and since then the country had a democratic evolution, even if along the decades there where some political convulsions. Still, in this African republic no bloody political or ethnic purification took place and foreign citizens have been always welcomed.

On the travel scene are available many rewarding African safari packages, but few of them leave so strong memories like safaris in Kenya. The variety and richness of wildlife in Kenya is extraordinary! In this country is located one of the tallest peaks in Africa, Mount Kenya (with 17,058 feet or 5,199 meters it is the second highest, after Mount Kilimanjaro) with a very specific flora and fauna. Due to its uniqueness, there is a protected region, the Mount Kenya National Park, designated by UNESCO as a "World Heritage Site". Mount Kenya is forested on the majority of its area and is home to numerous wild animal species like monkeys, antelopes, elephant, buffalo, giant forest hog, mountain bongo, hyena, leopard, and occasionally even lion. In the trees' crowning can be observed a multitude of exotic birds such as turacos, francolins, hornbills, sunbirds, parrots, swallows, mountain buzzards, the green ibis and the Abyssinian ground-thrush, the last two being very rare. To this vacation destination are organized many safari tours, from which perhaps the best is the "Mount Kenya Climb Sirimon Trek" starting in the capital city of Nairobi and continued to the western side of Mount Kenya. It takes 6 days/5 nights and affords participants to see beautiful glaciers, ice carved rock formations, deep valleys, snow capped pinnacles and a lot of game. It is truly a fabulous route and a dream journey for every trekking fan!

The mountainous region attracts annually 15,000 foreign tourists, but Kenya has many other holiday destinations with excellent vacation amenities. There are Samburu, Amboseli, Nakuru National Park (the second most visited park) and Masai Mara - these ones draw to the country even more international voyagers than Mount Kenya! Samburu National Reserve is located very close to the Buffalo Springs National Reserve, in fact it are separated by the Ewaso Ng'iro river. This reserve is a mixture of grassland vegetation, acacia, riverside forest and thorn trees, so the variety of animals is very large. Among others, there can be seen lion, cheetah, leopard, but also elephant, buffalo and hippo. Other local species are the gerenuk, Grant's gazelle, Kirk's dik-dik, impala, waterbuck, Grevy's zebra and the reticulated giraffe.

Other popular safari packages to Kenya include trips to Amboseli National Park lying only partially in this country and crossing the border with Tanzania. It is recognized as the very best place in Africa where can be encountered free-roaming elephants, and as a result sightseer really love to visit it! Masai Mara is perhaps the most popular game reserve in Kenya and even in Africa, and this appreciation is not accidental at all. Masai Mara is in fact an extension of Serengeti National Park from Tanzania, and as a consequence the richness of wildlife is stunning! Safari vacations in this region include jeep rides over spectacular grassland where live many popular African animals like rhino, wildebeest, elephant, lion, and many, many others.

Sightseeing trips to Kenya provide very beautiful memories and for this reason many people come back year after year to take pleasure in more natural treasures of this wonderful land. Safari deals to wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya are plentiful and some of the favorite tours and rewarding adventures in Africa include "Wings Over Kenya", "Samburu Safari", "Amboseli By Air", "Mara By Air", "Samburu By Air", "4 Day Masai Mara Fly In Tour", "Wildlife Safari in Kenya: Aberdare, Samburu, Masai Mara", "7 Day Lion Safari Tour", and "Kili Safari".
